Google Business Profile Management, Done for You
Google Business Profile management is the ongoing work of keeping your listing on Google Search and Maps accurate, complete and active, month after month. Most owners set their profile up once and never touch it again. I'm Kalen, I run Review River, and this is the part I take off your plate: I go through your profile every month, fix what's wrong, fill in what's missing, and keep watch for changes you didn't make. Technology helps me keep track. The work and the judgment calls are mine.
What Google Business Profile management includes each month
Your profile is often the first thing a customer sees, before your website and before they call. Here's what I keep right on it:
- Categories. Your primary category matches the work you most want calls for. Secondary categories cover the rest of what you do, without padding the list with services you don't offer.
- Services. Every service you offer is listed, in the words your customers actually search, with a short description of each.
- Business details. Hours, holiday hours, phone number, website link and service area stay current. A wrong number or old hours on Google costs you calls, and you'd never know it happened.
- Posts. Updates go up on a regular schedule: recent jobs, seasonal reminders, offers. A profile with nothing new on it looks abandoned next to a competitor's that's active.
- Photos. Real photos of your work, your crew and your trucks get added over time. Customers can tell stock photos from real ones.
- Review replies. Every review gets a reply, good or bad, written to sound like you. Replying to bad reviews calmly matters as much as thanking people for good ones.
- Watching for unwanted edits. Google and the public can suggest changes to your listing, like a new phone number, different hours or a moved map pin, and some go live without you noticing. I check for them and fix the ones that are wrong.
- Staying out of suspension trouble. Some popular shortcuts get profiles suspended: stuffing keywords into the business name, listing an address you don't work from, gating or buying reviews. I don't use them, and I flag it if I see your profile drifting toward one.
Where reviews fit in
A profile is only as convincing as its reviews, so reviews are part of the plan. After every job, each customer gets the same ask: two texts carrying a personalized image with their name on it, then three follow-up emails for anyone who didn't act on a text. Everyone gets asked the same way, with no filtering, which keeps you inside Google's review policy. New reviews keep the profile fresh, and I reply to each one.
What I won't promise
Nobody controls where you show up on Google Maps. Google says it ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence. Good profile management works on the parts you can affect: a complete, accurate profile, steady reviews, and a listing that looks active. I won't tell you you'll be number one by a certain date. Anyone who does is guessing, or doing something that can get your profile suspended.
Doing it yourself vs. having it done
Your Google Business Profile is free, and you can do all of this yourself. If you'd like to try, my Google Business Profile optimization checklist walks through the setup, and this guide on review counts shows how to size up your local competition. The hard part isn't knowing what to do. It's still doing it every month when you're busy running jobs. If you'd rather spend that time on the work that pays, that's what this service is for.
Pricing
Monthly Google Business Profile management is part of Own the Map, one flat monthly price. That covers:
- The monthly profile work above
- The review automation: two personalized-image texts and three follow-up emails after every job, plus replies to every review
- A website for your business, built and hosted by me, if you want one (see what's in the website)
No long-term contract. If you only need part of this, review automation on its own and reviews plus a website are also available. Book a short call and I'll quote whichever fits.
How it starts
- We talk. Book a call and we'll look at your profile together, along with what the businesses above you in the map pack are doing.
- I fix the basics. Categories, services, details and anything wrong or missing get handled first.
- Then every month. Posts, photos, review replies and checks for unwanted changes keep going, while the review requests run after every job.
Common questions
What is Google Business Profile management?
It's the ongoing work of keeping your Google listing accurate and active: the right categories, a full services list, current hours and contact details, regular posts and photos, replies to every review, and catching edits to your listing that you didn't make. Setting a profile up is a one-time job. Managing it is what keeps it right after that.
Does a Google Business Profile cost money?
No. Google doesn't charge for a Business Profile. What you pay for with management is the time and attention to keep it accurate and active every month.
Will you get me to the top of Google Maps?
I can't promise that, and nobody honestly can. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence, and distance depends on where the searcher is. What I do is work on the parts you can affect: a complete, accurate profile, steady new reviews, and a listing that looks active.
Can I get profile management without the reviews or the website?
Right now it's offered as part of Own the Map, because reviews and the rest of the profile work together. You don't have to use the website if you already have one you're happy with. If your situation is different, book a call and we'll talk it through.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. It's billed monthly and you can cancel anytime.
